We’ve just had the first flurries of winter snow and it’s time to wrap up cosy and warm. This month, we have a new yarn, Hayfield Bonus Aran Tweed and gorgeous new colours and inspirational designs in our fabulously cosy super chunky yarns, Indie and Big Softie.
The Sirdar collection is for Autumn Winter 2011 is crammed with inspirational new textures, colours and colour effects. We have 4 new Autumn fashion yarns, Big Bamboo, Babouska, Softpun DK and Bohemia and fabulous new colours and designs in our other cosy winter yarns, Squiggle, Connemara, Escape, Click and Crofter. We have lots of adorable new baby designs and colours in Snuggly DK, Baby Bamboo, Snowflake and Snowdrops.

Hayfield Bonus Aran Tweed
We are launching Bonus Aran Tweed with 8 tweedy shades including pretty pink, green and blue and a range of natural shades with tweedy neps and kemps. Our first Aran Tweed Knits book and 8 leaflets include casual, wearable styles for all the family to layer up cosy and warm. There are stunning cabled coats 9571 and cosy cabled ponchos (with trendy tassels) 9572 for women and girls and trendy hoodie styles 2355 for boys. There are easy girl’s cardies in plain stocking stitch 2354 and 9570 for beginners and classic Aran sweaters using traditional honeycomb and diamond cable patterns 2353 and 9568.
Indie
We have 4 new shades and 4 new leaflets to add to our Indie collection. We’ve kept the designs easy and quick to knit – 9543 has a simple jacket shape for women, 2349 is the easiest cardie for girls from 2 to 13 years and 9542 is a great man’s cardie design (one with a cosy grown on collar). Leaflet 9541 shows how dramatic Indie can look in our stunning entrelac sweater.
Big Softie
There are 3 new shades in Big Softie - 320 is a bright marmalade orange, 321 is a gorgeous apple green and 319 is a trendy mid grey mix. We have 4 new, easy to knit leaflets in simple and very wearable styles – 9530 is a simple v-neck raglan sweater for men and boys, 9531 has a v-necked cardie with long and short sleeves for women and girls, 9532 is a deep v-necked sweater with the option of a contrast neck and ribs and 9533 is a cosy waistcoat and cardie for women.
Bohemia - New Yarn
Bohemia is an easy knit scarf yarn that comes in 6 rich, inspirational shades including blues, purples, berry reds and 2 multi-mixtures with oranges, purples and blues.
There’s a free pattern on the ball band that’s incredibly easy to knit – with 20mm needles you just cast on 6 stitches and create the big knit texture by wrapping the yarn twice round the needles. This means your scarf grows twice as fast – it’s a perfect project for new knitters.
Funky Fur
If you want to be stylish and cosy this season, you need to be wearing knitted fur! Coming straight from the catwalks, the fashion for furry jackets and knits is a big fashion story. We have the perfect fur yarn with Funky Fur, with 6 new shades and 4 new leaflets for women and girls.
We’ve designed pretty little boleros on 2356 and a little cape with an optional collar on 2357 (also an easy knit) for girls from 2 to 13. These designs make a beautiful addition to bridesmaid’s dresses, but we bet that girls will want to wear these funky knits with their leggings too.
For women we have 2 fur waistcoats and a trendy cropped bolero. Both designs would create an instant fashion look knitted in our lustrous black Funky Fur. Our women’s designs go up to larger sizes.

Click Dk
We have 4 new fruity autumn shades for women and girls in Click DK – a gooseberry green, a tangerine, a pretty pink and duck egg blue, and 4 new leaflets with stylishly shaped knits – 9521, 9523 and 2345 feature pretty lace stitch cardies and 9522 is a cropped bolero finished off with a pretty knitted flower. The women’s leaflets all go up to larger sizes.
Click Chunky with Wool
Click Chunky comes in a variety of mixture shades and colourful marls that are great for winter knitting – we have 2 new mixture greys, a teal green mix and this winter’s fashion yellow. We have 6 new leaflets with fashionable designs for women and girls. There are short-sleeved cardies and waistcoats featuring trendy lace stitches. For girls from 2 to 13 years there are trendy capes with chunky cables and pom pom ties and easy knit raglan-sleeved cardies.
Snuggly Snowflake Chunky
We’ve launched 2 new shades in Snowflake Chunky designed to create soft and cuddly toys and for knitting cosy garments too. There’s a pale grey, which we’ve used to create our adorable mice and elephant designs and orange, which is purrfect for knitting our stripey ginger cat.
We have created 4 new toys made especially soft and squishy in our Snowflake Chunky yarn – just what little ones love! And, they’re easy to knit too in this fluffy yarn.
Bonus Baby Changes DK - New Yarn
Baby Changes DK is a new baby yarn with a subtle colour phased effect on pure white – a beautiful way of creating a fresh and pretty baby yarn. There are two blues for boys, a gorgeous green and yellow mix for girls or boys. And there’s a bubblegum pink, a pale pink and a peach, pink and lilac for the girls. Baby Changes DK comes in a 100g ball and is made from easy care 100% acrylic.
We’ve designed 4 great little leaflets to show off these amazing colours. For babies from birth to 7 years, we have lacy cardies for girls and a hoodie and jacket for boys. And in tiny sizes for premature babies to 2 years, there are pretty pink cardies and traditional raglan cardies and sweaters. These traditional designs can be knitted to all of our double knitting yarns.
